Winter Break, Pt. 5 (12. Feb.)

**Note: I'm really sorry for the exaggerated delay of these posts. Things have gotten hectic, chaotic, and chaotically hectic in the last few weeks. Lots of changes on the way. More on that when the right time comes.**

Now, off to visit the lovely Pszczyna Castle in Pszczyna, Poland.

I had an interesting 1st-time experience: wearing slippers over my shoes before entering the castle. This may be normal in many museums/castles, but this is the 1st time I've ever experienced it myself.
They made walking a little dangerous. There was hardly any friction and the floors were smooth. I can honestly say this was the first time I've ever "slipper-skated" through a castle!

Large trunk of said slippers.

Apparently, someone here liked to hunt.

So this castle is called the "Polish Versailles".

Pharaoh's daughter and Moses?

Cool in a slightly freaky way . . .

Whoa . . .

. . . whoa . . .

. . . whoa . . .

. . . were there any animals left in these woods?

Ah, very important room.

Audience Hall

Piano and busts to help overcome stage-fright.

I bet hunters would admire this more.

Oh, so here are the big guns--and what they took out.

From a balcony of the Audience Hall, looking down.

Why not have a seat with Princess Daisy?

The Gate of the Chosen Ones

The Gate of the Chosen Ones leads you to the castle. In old times, only kings, emperors, and the royal family walked through it (since this is how you can get to and enter the castle.

For the rest of the day, we welcomed the Sabbath with some of Anja's relatives. It was nice. I think we actually felt like we were adopted into their family, even for a few hours.

Then Sabbath.

Then Sunday, when we should have returned to KoĊ‚obrzeg, but . .  that'll be explained in the next post.
